The problem nobody chose
No company chooses a disconnected HR stack. Each tool solved one problem when it was adopted (a spreadsheet for headcount, PDF forms for onboarding, email for leave, a biometric export for attendance, a chat group for approvals), and nobody ever joined them up. Every one of those tools works. The failure lives in the gaps between them.
That is where the cost hides. One employee record keyed in four times. Compliance obligations falling into the cracks between systems. A leadership report that is already stale when it lands. Managers running blind, because in most systems access is all or nothing: the admin sees everything and everyone else gets a request form.
We built Bhivo to remove the gaps rather than to add a better tool to the stack. One record per person, read and written by every capability, on a model of the organisation as it actually works.
Four convictions that shape the product
Your structure is data, not our schema
Divisions, sites, cost centres and reporting lines are configured, not hard-coded. That is why a regional head sees their region without being made an administrator.
Workflows are data too
Approval logic differs per customer without forking the product. Satisfying one organisation by hard-coding its process would only make the next one harder.
No special cases
The sentence “let us just add a special case for this one client” is the beginning of technical debt everybody pays for. We bias against it even when it is the uncomfortable answer.
Security is a design constraint
Salaries, home addresses, government IDs, performance records. That is not a policy footnote; it shapes every feature from the first line.
How the platform fits together
One record, read and written by every capability
Model
The organisation is configured first (structure, reporting lines, cost centres, access) because everything else reads from it.
Run
Fourteen modules from recruitment to offboarding operate on that model, so a punch becomes a payslip without re-keying.
Automate
Reminders, escalations and agentic AI workflows carry processes end to end, handing back to a person when they should.
Extend
Partners and the services team build on real extension points that survive upgrades, not special cases in the codebase.
See
Reporting reads what the modules already wrote, scoped by your hierarchy, current when you open it.
Built for organisations that have outgrown the workaround
Mid-size to large organisations
The point where spreadsheets, email approvals and a legacy HRIS have already stopped coping with the headcount.
Multi-site and multi-division
Real reporting lines, real statutory obligations across states, and a way of working that took years to settle.
Field and frontline workforces
People who never pass a biometric reader or open a browser, reached through Bhivo Workfolks on the phone they already carry.
Indian compliance, natively
PF, ESIC, TDS, multi-state professional tax, LWF, gratuity and the Labour Codes, maintained against the rules in force, not added afterwards.
